While I think 300 at the wheels is possible, its not probable at least not with the current available mods. You will need a cam for sure and some sort of headers. The problem would come with the M62. I think with the stock pulley size there is not a lot of room to play with smaller pullies.
If your serious about this I would say N2O or turbo is your only current way. And as mentioned above you have the trans to worry about. Even a good stock rebuild is not going to hold up for long. |
wel thanks for all the suggestions and input and thx for pointing out my little topic typo lol..... IF i was serious about a turbo how much would that cost and would i need a new pcm or anything else to go with it???
|
$2k at least for a Turbo setup, then another $3k for the trans. A custom PCM would be required.
|
My apologies. I forgot we were talking about AT THE WHEELS. This is possible for the CRANK, but then even with a GOOD trans, you lose 20% before it gets to the wheels. Most lose a little bit more.

On average how much HP would you gain from
A: Decreasing the pulley size B: Cold Air intake C: opening up the exhaust D: adding a Jet stage 2 This would be some good information as well because then once u have those numbers you can gage how much above and beyond that you have to go. |

A: 25hp 40tq (assuming no KR) B: 5-10hp (assuming pulley installed) C: 5-10hp (assuming pulley installed) D: 10-20hp assuming all the other stuff is done already. Jet claims 25hp with intake and exhaust, but I think that's rather optimistic. |
Ok, so this seems as good a time as any to ask;
- Which is better? A custom PCM burn or a performance chip (such as jet)? Or do you need both? I'm confused, since I noticed that you can get a-la-carte PCM burns on the Intense website for less than you pay for a non-specific Jet chip. I'll admit that I didn't take the time to search this one before asking, so I'll take my lumps if this is a totally stupid/redundant question. However, my experience with my minitruck tells me that custom burns by specific vehicle focused vendors are usually better than generic performance chips. :help: |
Not 100%, I'm sure someone else will speak up, but I would think a completely custom burn would be much more sucessful than a generic chip.
Plus you can really customise the parameters to best suit your needs. |

I have 2 questions
1. Where do i get a performance chip/pcm for my 95 and is it worth it? 2.Why is it when i do the boost trick (Where you sldie down the boost control so that you get to full boost faster) It seems liek i loose performance overall instead of gaining... |
