Default gen III build for land speed

Hello all,

need input.

I want to build a 6.0 gen III cast iron motor for land speed racing.

It has to be carbureted

can anyone suggest a good cam / manifold / carb combo to run with the stock rotating assembly? lq4 probably...

in the end it will be broken down and built with forged rods/ pistons and eventually super charged. But for the September meet it will be a junk yard jewl with a carb.

Thanks

Fred

technically the lq4 is a vortec engine but the ls carb swap manifolds, cam, and whatever should fit

ive never built an ls but personally i would go with a tall single plane like this and a 750 to 850 holley 4150 carb. then call up summit or a cam co. and see what the biggest cam you can get away with w/stock heads. then you can sell those when you go to "stage two"
