well i went ahead and put the ac delco platinums in anyways and i have noticed some considerable hp loss, just doesn't seem to have the same get up and get it had. it had ngk'* in it and i checked on a set of them thru advance and not only would they have to order them but they were also 9.98 each(didn't see that coming). so my question is, what other brand would get that hp back for a lesser price. i also cleaned out the radiator flu'* and ripped the baffles out of the air box. can't spend much more money on it the wife claims i'm dipping into the trip money now.

NGK makes the ac-delco plugs that are stock in our cars. Did you check the gaps before you put them in? They should be at .60. If your looking for another brand you can get autolite 605'* pretty cheap (1.25 per i think).

i think copper plugs will work good in the heat in your engine. Try those. The plugs shouldnt make that much of a difference, so check the gaps. If the wife complains, tell her you are gonna save on gas money.

yeah i put the 605 platinums in but they just don't feel right. i went out and bought some ngk tr55'*. maybe that will help. when i put the autolites in i went to our car craft center so i could use the lift bay and the only gapper they had was a feeler type that only went as high as .035 so the guy there just told me too add feelers til i made a .057 which is what i wanted. i don't think his idea worked too well so tommorow i'm headed back there too put in the ngk'* and i bought a gapper this time. i had a gapper but i loaned it out and never got it back. so a lesson learned for today and corrections done tommorow. thanks for the feed back and if anyone has any idea what the ideal gap setting is plz let me know. i miss those lost ponies.

You may want to try the TR6, it'* one step colder then the TR55'*. With your mods, you may run better with them.

With those mods, slightly smaller then .06 will be good, the .057 may be just right for you.

do you have a pully? Stick with the .60 and see what you get. Sounds like you have like 4 sets of plugs, so go ahead and experiment before the trip. I would go with stock for the trip tho. Most of your mods will keep the heat down in the engine.
