Default New Mod: F-Body Caliper Swap and SS Brake Lines Installed

****EDIT 05.10.08 - Added pics for the rear SS lines, new calipers and rotors.****

Well I finally got this little project done.

I worked with ZZP to get stainless braided brakes lines made for the 00+ H-bodies. This past weekend I was able to do a complete brake fluid flush and get the front lines installedd along with the F-Body aluminum dual piston calipers.

The front lines fit great...no extra slack, no binding or tightness. The rears fit perfect.

When installing the front lines, you have to reuse the front stock bracket to hold the brakeline away from the tire/wheel. I pryed the bracket open with a screwdriver/prybar. I used a piece 2" piece of 1/4" I.D. fuel hose, sliced down the center to cover the new line. I sprayed some WD-40 to slide the black hose into position in the bracket. Once it'* in the bracket, the friction between the black hose and the clear covering on the brakeline prevent it from moving.

The rear lines are a straight-forward swap.

The caliper kit includes everything you need to mount up the calipers. No need to drill and tap the brackets. They bolt right up.

Here'* the items I bought from ZZP:
F-Body Brake Kit (minus rotors and pads) - $240.00

that looks so sick! Nice. This is definitely on my to do list come June, at least for the fronts. It'* just the calipers right? your 16" GTP wheels with slicks should still clear right?

No it dosnt, I dont know why you say that. If you look at the pic with both calipers you can see the the bleading nipple on top and both calipers are facing eachother.

Rotors, not calipers.
The rotors are straight vane so it really doesn't matter.
