Default T-56 Trans in 3rd Gen Nova

I'm planning on getting 3rd Gen Nova (68-72) and I want to drop a T-56 6 speed in it. I've looked around and they're aren't very many manual trans Nova'* out there, most have a powerglide. I've found less than an handful out there but for less money I could buy an auto Nova in slightly better condition. Would it be cheaper buy an auto and convert it in to a manual or buy one that'* already a manual and just drop it in?

Also what needs to be done so it'll fit in the Nova, I'm pretty sure it'* not just gonna fit. What do I need to modify/replace/buy to have the job done right. I haven't decided what engine or rear end ratio but I know I want it to be a daily driver. I may just drop a 350 but I want something with decent amount of power I don't plan on running 10'* but I just want something decent.

Im thinking what ever route you end up going you will have some modification of cross member, mounts and your hole in the floor..The T-56 is a pretty big trans..Also the T-56 is gonna use a hydro clutch where as a nova like yours woulda had mechanical clutch linkage so ig you can find a package deal for a good price thatd be the way i go

they are also expensive, the better deals ive seen are a take out engine like a ls from a fbody, with the trans still attached. like he said you would want everything, master/ slave, computer, petals, etc.... but a ls nova with a t56 would be awsome.
