Default Series I Turbo

So recently i have been thinking more and more about a Turbo, though its not in the very near future. I just keep dreaming about it more and more. But one has become available to me and this just threw the dreaming over the edge so now i have questions

A buddy of mine has a '02 or '03 SAAB 93 with the 2.0L Turbo, he saying hes gonna get rid of that turbo for another. And i just started thinking some, he said he'd give me his current one for about $600. I'm not well educated on the turbo deal, but would it work with the 3.8, both are from GM, it would just be a matter of fitting it wouldn't it.

and just wondering what else would i need to go about doing for a project like this

i want some boost

I am doing kinda same project on paper, that turbo your buddy has is going to be small, like a 1.5-1.8, is will get some power to you, 50 -75 on high side, if you want big and bad got have bigger. The GN have 3.8 on t3 turbos, they are much large twice the size, more power. I am building mine idea on paper and am going with a 1.5 turbo, to start and you can get newer rebuilt turbo for alot cheaper, like $250.00 or so. Mike

Save yourself an ulser and don't. Friend of mine tried turboing an N/A engine years ago and it ended with a decaying motor that was "touched" too much. If you have an engine where a kit is offered and have the money (S2) then maybe. Even then its a lot more maitenance.

mike1053 is right... the turbo would be too small for the 3.8

If you're serious about it, talk to the guys at http://www.precisionturbo.net/.
That'* where I got my SC34 from.
My friend is turbo'ing his L67 Cavalier, and he got his turbo from there as well. He'* trying to get 500hp with it.
