P0172 is telling you the engine is getting too much fuel (running rich). Did you try dis connecting the fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose and check for fuel (running and not running) there is a diaphram in side that ruptures, was common. The psi regulator is on the end of the left (front) fuel rail. vacuum hose by the maf sensor. Can also try to disconnect the evap line from the engine and plug the engine side to see if fuel is coming in from the evap system. If you can get to a scan tool data would be helpful. could be a skewed sensor (example: oxygen sensor fixed rich causing the engine to run lean). Hope this is helpful.
nothing fancy but I does have live data I can watch all that info til the cows come home but I don't know what I'm looking for How do I find out the parameters so I'll know if something is skewed? Any advice ya'll have to give is helpful, so thank you |

You just need to remove the things that need be. Take pictures as you go. Remove the throttle body completely off and make it look like new. That will likely fix your idle problem.
There's a bit of gunk on the very edges of the plate that moves but not much Is it possible that it's really dirty and gummed up behind what I can see? |
