Default No Spark, No start

This is actually an update from an earlier thread, https://www.gmforum.com/oldsmobile-1...h-idle-311299/
Last week the car died and wouldn't restart so I decided to replace the cam sensor and magnet, I used the JB Weld replacement procedure for the magnet.
Got it all back together and still no start. Started trouble shooting and found there was no spark to the plugs. I cranked the engine maybe 30-40 times while testing different plug wires and I noticed the coil packs were warm.
Anyway, I decided to start testing the ICM, turned the ignition on then was distracted by a phone call after about 10 minuets I noticed one of the coils had got so hot it burst and spewed its resin filler.
Obviously I need to order a new coil pack. Any idea why it got so hot? Just from the ignition in "ON" position?
