Trying to replace 95 LSS seats...
 

Hi All,
This is my first post here after finding this group. I recently bought a '95 LSS, Green with tan leather interior. The seats are very comfortable, unfortunately, the leather is shot. Seams torn in several areas. I wanted to know if the exact same seats were used in other GM vehicles that I might find in my wanderings through the Pick and Pull yards. From what I've gathered about reupholstering, that would certainly be cost prohibitive.
Mechanically, the vehicle is great, it was formerly owned by a mechanic who used it as a loaner for his customers. I've been able to pick up trim pieces here and there, but still also have to find the original badging, ie LSS for the front quarter panels. Any ideas on a source for those?

Well, I finally replaced my '95 LSS front seats. Actually all of them.
I've been scavenging our local boneyard pretty regularly, and last week a '96 LSS came in. White with the light grey interior.
I could not find any information online if the 96 seats would fit in the 95, but I took a chance and it was a total success. The hardest part was not being able to move the seats for better access to the bolts on the donor. Much, much easier when I installed them in my car with battery power.
Something interesting I observed on both cars- both of them had one nut missing on one of the two rear attachments. Each seat has a left and right attachment with two bolts each. Each car had one bolt without a nut on it. It looks like it came that way from the factory. I wondered why that was; did the engineers say that that bolt wasn't necessary, or maybe a way to speed up the production line.
The junkyard has been pretty good to me with restoring my Olds. I'll post some pics if anyone is interested.

If you go to car-part.com and put your info in it will list vehicles in junkyards with the part your looking. If you look though the list it will show you different vehicles and year that are in the junkyards. You can use this to help you. Its what i do or when i go to the local u pull yard they print one out for me of the different vehicles that will fit.

I seemed to noticed the "1" missing nut on my 95 Bonneville awhile back. At 5 cents a nut, 200,000 cars later, that's $10,000 they save on each model.

I wonder what they left out when GM painted the cars with the bad primer?....
