Timing Cover Stuck! 91 Olds Regency Elite
 

Been a long time since I was on here. Now I have a problem and am going to the experts! Took the water pump off and broke off 2 bolts in the water pump. Got the pump off and found another bolt had been broke off before we got the car. So now I have to take off the timing cover to get the broken bolts out. Oops, one of the bolts goes through the water pump and into the engine. Took off everything that was in the way. Removed all the bolts in the timing cover. Unhooked all the electrical and removed the crank pulley/balancer assembly. Removed heater hoses from the housing... Still the timing cover will not come off. Planning on taking the cover to a machine shop, don't have the torches to heat the bolts enough... Tried gently prying it and tapping it with a hammer. The cover is aluminum and I am afraid of breaking it. Any ideas?:confused:

I believe 2 or 3 of the bolts go through the water pump and timing cover, and for some reason, I remember there being some trick to it, like hidden bolts, but I dont remember what it is. Maybe the oil pan has to come off?

Thanks for replying. I got out the oil pan bolts already. Unfortunately had to take the motor to frame mount at the first. I think that the assembly that the oil filter is mounted to can stay on. It shows it like that in my Chilton's. The dang thing is still hanging fairly tight. I have been told that permatex will really stick and am wondering if that could be the problem.
