TCS light on in my 1995 Silhouette

My 1995 Silhouette (L27/4T60E) has been having some trans problems lately. Every so often if I hit a hard bump the "low traction" light would come on briefly. Now the "TCS" light has been coming on. Particularly when I make a turn. But, it doesn't always come on. It might come on as soon as I back out of the driveway or it might come on 20 miles later (always while making a turn) or it may not come on during the entire trip.

I had added a trans cooler about 2 months ago. I changed the fluid and filter too. The fluid is red as it should be and the van shifts just fine, I feel no slipping.

The ABS light is not on, but does come on during bulb check.

Perhaps an intermittent wiring problem? I've been looking through the FSM traction control supplement and getting nowhere. I was hoping someone here had an idea.

Sounds like one of the wheel speed sensors is acting up from time to time. It could be loose wiring. I would check to make sure the wiring to each of them (one on each wheel) is in good condition.

Also, not sure in your application, but they often mount on little clips, and if they come off of those clips and the wiring harness starts flopping around, they can do some interesting things.

But wouldn't that turn the ABS light on as well?

Not necessarily. I've seen both and this is probably a WSS issue or wiring.
