No, but I believe the series 3 has a better chance of being fitted, but I don't know what all is involved.

In all honesty, you can either block the coolant passage to the throttle body, or even go for a newer sleeved intake, and greatly reduce the chances of a recurring failure.

Unless you want the shiny, then look in to the Series 3.

If you are just trying to ensure EGR gasses do not warp the throttle body coolant port, then just get a new redesigned Dorman Upper Intake Manifold, and install the reduced diameter EGR Stove-pipe, if you want to be extra cautious you can pay a tad more and get the APN Upper Intake Manifold, it has a steel bushing where the EGR Stove-pipe passes through, that is protection enough.
Or as mentioned you could block the coolant ports altogether.

Here is the best UIM you can get, really I am pretty sure it is just the redesigned Dorman one with the steel bushing added.

Go to autozone and have them pull them off the shelf. And there is no way you will get them to work. LIM is different, heads are different, accessories are different. Many things are different between the S1 and S2

A metal series 1 intake manifold will have to come from the junkyard, I don't know of any places that would stock them new.

But as Mike said, it'* irrelevant, because the engine is different.

Here is a link to the series 3 UIM, which was aluminum. If you want metal, you will need to figure out how to make this work:
More Information for ACDELCO 89018222

I recall a couple of instances of people making it work, but I don't recall what all was involved, and most just end up going for the sleeved plastic plenum, or blocking the ports to the UIM.

Is the main concern for the upper intake to look better, or perform without any issues?
If you want to be sure it performs well go with the APN UIM, and the reduced diameter EGR Stove Pipe, and maybe even go ahead and replace your fuel pressure regulator, if you don't replace it be sure to test it for a ruptured diaphragm from time to time, so you don't end up with an exploding UIM.

I seen a thread somewhere where a guy made the series 3 UIM work, but it was a bit of customizing involved.. I forget the details now..

guy, just wondered.... i did the dorman upgrade upper/lower...a while back, no issues since, and would not attempt s1 or s3 mod

just curious of what changed...that was all

I have had to change a blown out plastic elbo and belt tensioner, elbo blew out, belt flew off, on hard acceleration a month ago...puked out all the antifreeze......... other than that, problem free for long time

I heard the ribs/baffles were reinforced to be stronger, other than that the main thing was that the kit came with the reduced diameter EGR Stove Pipe, which kept the gasses away from the plastic of the intake a little better.

I was talking to a guy earlier today that said he went with a L26 UIM and that mainly he had to pay 90.00 for an adapter from ZZP I think it was.
Of course he did not mention having to do anything else, but I am pretty sure you would have to cap the L26'* current PCV inlet, and drill your own.
Also I think I read that the L26 EGR Stove Pipe is 1/8" shorter than the L36 one, so you'd either have to shave 1/8" off, or get a L26 stove pipe.
I think you may even want to go with a L67 Throttle Body, which will need a spacer, and need you to block off the coolant ports, or drill some holes in the adapter.
Of course you'd also have to have the tables for the TB changed, as the L67 MAF Tables are different.
Overall it sounds like a lot to do to go from nylon to aluminum.
You'd think Dorman would work on casting us an aluminum UIM that would be a direct easy fit, hell I'd buy it and replace mine now just for more longevity out of it.
