SSEi sway bars to Olds eighty eight?
Does anyone know if these would work on my 94 olds 88 from a similar ssei?
Also would this make any difference of what I have? I know my car has the softer springs commonly used in the SE's. I plan to upgrade the struts as well. I just have the N/A version of the car. |
They'll fit perfect. 92-95 for sure, maybe 96-99 and 91.
|
will it make any noticable difference with them or should I just get new bushings?
|
I had this test corner at the track. I could take it at 35 and slide around. Now I can take it at 50+ like I'm on rails. F41 rocks. Try for 16mm thick springs, Anything over 15.65 is F41. 32mm solid front bar and 21mm solid rear. New endlinks and check your bushings. Bars will do more than bushings.

I have read normal on my car is 32MM in the front and I think they are solid but I have not looked at them. How do I determine what size they are other than measuring?
I know the rubber endlinks are getting there both front and rear. Someone posted on here that the springs did not make as a noticable difference as better struts. Does this have any truth to it? And I am not trying to throw money in this car that much but what would be the most cost effective upgrades if my budget was around a couple hundred? I just want to have more stability on turns (I live in mountains) and a little smoother ride on the highway. |
I bought the F41 springs and sways for $45. Endlinks are like $30.
|
Did you do anything with the struts?
|
Not yet, They're all about 90% worn to be exact. What are those struts Bill went with? They're really nice.

Springs will make more difference than struts but bad struts will delete some of the improvement. You need to find car in JY that has F41 on the code chart in trunk. Buy the springs and struts in one piece. Buy the bars. Big difference. I am in process of putting older F41 on my 90 Regency. The rear springs and bar is in and that really made a difference. I cant wait to tighten up the front too. You need to drop tie rod on one end I believe to get front sway out and in.
You could find F41 in SSEi, LSS and if you see a LeSabre with nicer aluminum wheels it may have the handling package as well. You need to see F41 on the options sticker. Go by that not diameter. Temper has alot to do with springs too. There is no diameter difference in the rear springs I just removed from my Regency to the ones I put in. |
