Runs like a charm.....Then Stalls....No Spark.....No Fire

This problem just happened randomly.... I was driving and the car just cut off....After it cooled for a hour or so I started it and it Ran fine until operating temperature then Stalled out again....Tried to recrank right after stall an can no longer hear fuel pump....checked for spark and there was none. Let cool down again and tried to recrank...This time you can hear fuel pump...Starts right up and runs like a charm until warm then stalls again. Took to a mechanic shop.... Replaced fuel relay....fuel pump. crank position sensor, cam position sensor and the computer just in case.... Checked for fuel at the fuel rail checked out fine....Tested spark plugs for spark...NONE...heres the kicker.... no fuel coming thru injectors to foul spark plugs when attempting to restart while hot... hence no spark no fuel.... I replaced everything remotely possible to the problem.... Am I missing something....Never had a problem before this.. EVER

Crankshaft position sensor. It controls spark and fueling. It also very rarely sets a code when it fails. Are you getting a Service Engine Soon light?

He already had the CKP replaced.

What year/model is your Oldsmobile?
Ahh never mind, I see that info in your about me section.

Have you had the ICM tested?
Given the fact the car stalls out when hot, and won't restart while hot due to no spark at any of the plugs, leads me to think the ICM could be going bad, considering the problems you describe that should have been the first thing the mechanic checked, and or replaced, especially since the ICM's failing from heat-soak is a fairly common issue.

The next time it gets hot and stalls, you can try to use the info in this link to test the ICM.
If you find it is the ICM, you could replace it yourself, and avoid any more mechanic charges, it is really easy to replace.

its got no spark and you replaced the crank sensor, i would try the ICM. this is on your 3.1 olds? it helpful if you state those or fill out your sig.

Guess I missed the part where it says he replaced the crank sensor :S

Thanks for all the replies....no the ICM wasn't checked after being hot....Im not sure why...Let me ask a question though? When it stalls and fails to restart I cannot hear the fuel pump enganging (whizzing sound) but there is fuel to the fuel rail....When it cools down the car runs brand new for five minutes then stalls again.....Even if the ICM is bad why is there no fuel reaching the injectors and getting to the spark plugs when attempting to restart (fouling the Plugs)? I will check the ICM in the morning...Thanks for all input its greatly appreciated..... I just want my baby to work again...

My Mother had a 93 Lumina that did similar thing, turned out to be the computer. Seems it was a common problem for those cars. They way to test it is when its idling you take a plastic handle screwdriver and tap the computer box with the handle and if it stalls, you need a new computer. Short circut I guess.

Need to find out why the fuel pump isn't working when its suppose to. I'm thinking its almost a 20 year old pump and its on the way out.

as stated in my first message....already replaced fuel pump @mike1995.... I will check that method on the cpu @Z15.... does the same scenario every time after cool down starts up fine....then just cuts off after it warms up. no fuel no spark...

everything on a w-body, ie the PCM, and all is right next to the engine, so it does seem logical to have issues when hot
