Default Rpm surges

Im no mechanic but I have a 94 olds 88 royale with a 3.8l v6 and when i got the car it idled high so i figured the throttle body needed to be cleaned so i removed it and cleaned it out. Well they had tons of liquid gasket there with the original gasket so I'm quite sure they had a problem there when whomever cleaned it last. Well i put it all back together with a new throttle position sensor cause the old one looked crusty. Anyway, now the rpms surge at idle. Up and down Up and down. It doesn't matter if i let it sit, it still does it. Tomorrow I'm replacing the gasket and this time ill also use some of the black 3m liquid gasket, in case it doesn't seal good, and I'm gonna clean the maf with maf cleaner. Do y'all think this is the solution? Anyway, I'm gonna do that tomorrow and I'll post the results. If anyone has any other opinions please feel free to comment. Thanks guys.

Have you tried starting the engine with the MAF sensor disconnected? Does that help?
Generally when I think of surging it is TPS related but you have replaced that hmm..

Did you have the battery disconnected during your repair? If so, it may need to learn to idle. Most of these generation GM the procedure is, get it to idle, block the wheels and put it in drive. Allow it to run until the fan cycles. This should set it.

When i started the car today the idle was mostly consistent with a mild sputter, and was a little low on acceleration power, so i went to clean everything and my maf sensor crumbled in my hands. Needless to say, that'* my problem. Btw, yes i did disconnect the battery when i was working on it.

Default Maf sensor

I replaced my maf sensor and ALL previous problems are gone. The car now drives like a dream. Sorry guys, i threw out the old one and couldn't find it. What happened was the shaft broke at the flat part causing it to get faulty readings. The new one cost me 80$ at advanced.

The thing is though, now my cruise control isn't working and my a/c blend isn't working, leading me to believe i lost a vacuum line somewhere our something... I'm not sure
