Default Problems with air coming out of the vents

I've been having this problem on my '91 Olds 88 with electronic climate control. Even if the blower motor is set to the highest speed, barely any air comes out of the vents. It doesn't matter what mode the system is in.

Anyone seen this before?

Yep. A blocked evap core can limit air flow. See pics below for descriptions

Pine needles in a 97. Not enough ro block air flow but this is how it starts.

Mold and crud in a 90. Alone, this will not limit air flow much but can produce a musty or fowl smell coming from the vents.

Rodent nest. This along with the crud can limit air flow.

You can vacuum out most of the lose debris by removing the Blower Control Module and using a vacuum with a long attachment with a small diameter. The mold and caked on crap can be removed with a foaming spray. I beleive there is more information in the Techinfo link at the top of the page

Thanks. I'll have to look into that.

don't forget that if you cannot hear the fan blowing (you should be able to hear it when it is on "high") then you probably need a new blower motor. If you hear the fan blowing then you have another problem.

I can definitely hear my fan going full speed. When I have some time, I'm going to have to check things out inside the ductwork.
