Default Correct 4.3L Replacement

Hello! New to the site. I have a 1998 Olds Bravada with a 4.3 V6. My daughter drove it home with a rod knock and I found a low mileage replacement. It is out of a 2006 Silverado. I only need the short block. I'm pretty sure this will work but need some confirmation. Anyone know?

I'm pretty sure it will work, they didn't make much changes on the 4.3 from 98 on up.

The bad news and the good news.....
The 2006 Silverado has a different knock sensor. The 1998 won't go in with out some adaptation.

Good news is now I have the upgraded MFI with the good spiders. Runs great!!

the mpfi conversion is so nice, my yukon runs like a new car with it and gets 18-20mpg instead of 15. what did you do for the knock sensor?

Yes, the MPFI is so very nice. I'm looking into a 0411 ECM conversion now...just because I can't stop.

I work in a machine shop so instead of drilling out the block and tapping the new thread...something that was impossible with the motor in...I made an adapter.
