1998 Oldsmobile LSS ELC help...
Im trying to fix the ELC in the 1998 Oldsmobile LSS i just bought a week ago. The rear of the car sags, the compressor never comes on, even when first starting the car. Ive checked all the wiring I can find and it appears to be fine, and ive checked the "ELC Spare" fuse in the maxi fuse area under the hood, since that is the only ELC fuse i can find. Ive been researching my butt off trying to find out where the ELC relays and main fuse is, but there is no information about this car, and very little for the standard Eighty-Eight. There is no ELC fuse under the driver compartment, and there are only 4 relays in the maxi fuse area, none of which are labeled. Anyone know about these cars?
Thanks in advance for the help!

I remember back in the day when I had my 81 Olds (luckily before level control)..
I would head to the public library and would find the Factory service manual to make copies from. I dont know if you have the owner'* manual or not but often fuses & such were in there as well.
I hope this info helps and someone is liable to chime in soon possibly with some help.
Oh & Welcome to the forum Andrew.

I am not sure if there are any other fuses, but if somebody can find you a wiring diagram you could test the compressors wiring connector for voltage.
Do you have a multimeter?
I have heard of these compressors having problems where they will run constantly, and this can cause them to burn up.
It is costly to replace the compressor, you are better off replacing the struts with Gas Struts, they have conversion kits.
If the struts are still in good shape you should be able to get a manual fill kit, I cannot find a link to the kit at the moment, but I am sure Justin will post a link to the kit when he sees this thread.
I think it is Monroe AK29, AK29 being the part number, wait for conformation from him before trying to buy this kit, let me see if I can find the link to a thread he has about the kit.
I am not able to find the link to the thread I mentioned, I am sure he'll respond ASAP and be able to assist you.

Totally agree with this approach. Just rid the system all together, and convert it. A lot less troubles and expense down the road.
