Unhappy Never Seen This Before!

So this morning I started up the Oldsmobile and let it run for a few minutes. Right when I went to back out of the driveway the car quit. I started the car and it died after about 20 seconds. When I turned the key off and back to the ON position again without the engine running the fuel injectors were firing just like the engine was running, but the Engine was OFF.
I then also noticed the dash lights flickering including the engine light. When I tried to scan for codes the computer and radiator fan kept flickering on and off making it hard to see the codes. I then let the car sit for about 6 hours and then it started right up with no problems but seems to be misfiring more than usual. Changed the computer and the car still had the missfire and it came close to stalling, battery terminals are tight,

any ideas,

Assuming it actually was the injectors firing, there had to be a serious meltdown of the computer for it to think it was running, and firing injectors accordingly.

I don't know if you investigated it however. The purge valve can also make a similar noise (bit louder though), and would be more consistent with what was going on.

If the computer was not the cause, I would be checking power feeds (wiring, ignition switch, etc) and grounding (contact points, busses, etc).

And according to his profile, it'* a '90 Delta 88.

Yes it threw code 34, ,41 ,and 42 when it died the first time and they never came back. It is a 1990 delta 88 and yes I could feel each injector clicking away just like the car was running, but it wasnt.

I'll take a look at the bus bars under the carpet on each side.

Default A Little Update!

First off, sorry for not getting back sooner. Buss Bars / Grounds look good. I think my injectors are shorted or messed up in some way. I ordered this set from Ebay last year due to my old ones leaking. They are made by Uremco. Anyways, I took the plug off a properly working injector and switched the plug to a poorly working injector (has a skippy feel to the pulse) and the problem injector did not switch spots with the one next to it. This tells me it is not the injector signal but the injectors themselves that are causing the Idle Missfire problem.

Could the shorted injectors have caused or played a role in the electrical problems I was having with the car? SES Light Flashing, Pulsing injectors by themselves, radiator fan flickering, ect?

Ok, I found something that I think is interesting. I ran my negative probe on my multi meter to the negative post on my battery and tested all of the ECM Ground wires that go from the computer back to ground and they all tested good. I tested for 02 Sesnor ground for the heck of it and that was also good.

There is a black wire on the Orange Connector that goes into the computer called "Sensor Ground" it is pin D5 on the orange Connector. When I tested from that pin back to ground I got no beep. Does that mean there is a sensor somewhere that has a short?

Since that circuit is just a ground, you have an open, not a short....
