Larger Engine for 2000 Oldsmobile Alero?

I have a 2000 Oldsmobile Alero with a 2.4, do you think a 4.0 from a 2000 Oldsmobile Aurora could fit? Would the mounts match or is the 4.0 too big?

Bump- Anyone know if a 4.0 could possibly fit into an Olds Alero?

Not just the engine, but the transmission also.......

I just don't think so, not to mention the changing of wiring harnesses, and PCM, and new mount/cradle, etc.

Be a hell of a lot easier to by an Aurora......and it's a better vehicle, than an Alero...

I think a supercharged 3.8 would better suit him. Or go old school and drop a carb'd 350 in it and convert it to RWD.

Agree, the engine bay on an Alero is designed for a 60-degree V6 and even then is tight. I don't think a 90-degree V8 of any sort will fit, especially a DOHC, without major modifications and a custom or cut-open hood.

Then there's the electronics . . .
