Help my headliner is falling..
Just this summer my 1990 olds eighty eight's headliner is starting to fall off near the front in the middle. What can i do to stop/fix it? Its about 15 inches wide now.

Search 92-99 forum with John Deere Boy and headliner. He's got his info and Harofreak00's info posted very well. Should be able to help you out.

Once it starts its not going to stop, and there is no point in trying to glue any of it as the Foam backing had degraded...
I took my 91 Bonneville to a local shop and they did it for $120.... Its been about 4 years and it still looks perfect... Great color match too... You almost wouldn't know it wasn't factory.... __________________ Best Car Insurance | Auto Protection Today | FREE Trade-In Quote |
Thats what i was afraid of.. I dont have the money to fix it so i guess its probally going to all go. Is this a common problem for this car? What causes this?

I did the headliner in my 95 while I had the interior out of the car.... Other than removing the windshield it seemed to be the only way to remove the Headliner...
I got the fabric, and cleaned the old material and foam( dust ) off the headliner... I at the time could not get a hold of 3M90( $15 a can BTW, I used 2 )... I ended up using Permatex... Man was that ever a mistake that I will never repeat... I ended up having to do the headliner a second time.... I screrwed it up a bit, but you'd really have to look closely to find the mistakes I made... The 3M90 is way better than the Permatex.. If I ever have to do a headliner again, And I don't intend to, I will use the 3M90 the first time around... I also had to redo the sun Visors.... That was a bit of a pain.... The drivers side was a learning experience for sure.... The passenger side turned out way better than the drivers side... I am thinking about doing the drivers side over as I have more than enough material left for it... It did turn into a Job tho... Headache may be the right word... __________________ Best Car Insurance | Auto Protection Today | FREE Trade-In Quote |

Ain't got the money to fix this??? Have I found a product for you!!! Saggy Stoppers http://data.solidcactus.com/cjimages...adsupsaggy.gif Just a couple of bucks at Wally World or your local part store. You to screw these little suckers in the healiner and (Ta-daaaa) the sky stops falling! Warning! This product is meant for cheap old bastards like me! This product will NOT score you any points while your girlfriend is looking up at your celing while you are looking down her.....well.....you might want to replace the headliner in the near future. |
Not to be a pain, did anyone see the post by Billboost37 mentioning two people who had great successes at extremely low costs?
