Default On and Off Check oil light on my Achieva

Within the last few months my check oil light will come on about two or three times a week and that had gotten me really worried because I don't know if that is an indication of low oil pressure from my oil pump or a short in my other oil sensor and the bottom of the oil pan which tells me when I'm low on oil. So since I don't have a gauge to tell me what my oil pressure is at and really no way to find out so I am ounce again turning to everyone here on the problem. Also I have replace the oil pressure switch and Oil lever sensor earlier this year do to oil leaks from both of the along with replacing the oil pan gasket. So since I have replaced these items and now have no oil leaks what so ever I and staring to get a little worried on what may be going on. The check oil light usually comes on when I start the car but if has come on before when I was driving but if I pull over and turn off the car the light goes away, the same thing goes if when I am pulling out of my driveway I shut off the car the light goes away. Also I really don't know if this really ties into this or not but when the light does come of the car seams to lose power going up hills of any king big or small but on flat surface it does fine. So does this present and electrical problem or maybe something bigger like an oil pump problem. Also for the in case of maybe having a defective sensor I warrantied out bot sensors on my last oil change 1k miles ago but the light still come on and off at random.

Sounds like you have A wiring issue or the oil level sensor you replaced is faulty. I would unplug the level sensor and drive it. If the light stays off the sensor is bad, if the light keeps coming on you have a short somewhere. Just make sure to keep an eye on your oil level.

I was able to find and fix the problem today. It was a wiring problem. One of the wires had a bare spot in it so I clipped both wires and the proceed to use but connectors to reconnect the wires then I slide heat shrink tubing over the but connectors to protect the wires. After that I tucked the wires back into the plastic wiring conduit I pulled them out of.
