Rear View Mirror Upgrade Olds Intrigue 1998
Hello ALL, im new to the site and in need of help. I own an Oldsmobile Intrigue 1998.
I am currently trying to upgrade my interior rear view mirror from the stock mirror, to 1 with auto dim and compass that I pulled from a 1st gen Olds Aurora. The issue at hand is with wiring. (The factory wires from the old mirror are orange, grey and black. The wires coming from the mirror w/ compass are pink, green and black.) When I connect the wires in order to get power, the power is constant on even with ignition on. With tryin to connect the wires in a diff arrangement I get no results.
CAN ANYONE TELL ME IF THIS ISSUE IS SOLVABLE or IF THIS MIRROR IS EVEN COMPATIBLE WITH MY CAR????

I don't see why it wouldn't be compatible. I put one in my car a couple years ago. 3 wires, 1 is Positive, 1 is ground and 1 is reverse(when you put the car in reverse it turns the mirror off).

Can one of you two tell me how to get the mounting plate loose from the mirror on a '97 Cutlass, dual map light mirror? My neighbor'* fell off the windshield and I simply can't figure out how to get that plate off to re-cement it on the windshield.
Thank you!
Thank you!

Some are held in with a small hex screw and some are held in by a metal locking tab that you have to push against to unlock it.

Mike, thank you for the reply. I'm very familiar with the set screw type and this doesn't have one. There'* a "center" piece that looks like it should pop off but I can't get it to move. There'* also a button about 1/8" in diameter at the bottom of the center piece. How and where exactly do you push to release? Hope this tells you something. If not, I'll try and snap a photo and post it.
Thanks for your help.
Thanks for your help.

Mike, I got it. I got my head out of my butt and unplugged the mirror so I could take it in the house and work with it. That center tab does pry off it just took way more pressure than I expected. It'* a pretty stuff spring.
Thanks again!
Thanks again!

Glad you got it figure out. And don't worry about the typo. We would rather you make another post with correct information than just leave it be. And no, we disabled the edit feature because sometimes members get disgruntled and leave "deleting" things.
