Default 94 olds 88 royale

Just purchased an 94 olds 88, 71,000 original miles well maintained. Keep seeing all the talk about LIM gaskets, How do i know if have the plastic lined gaskets. Does my year model even have a problem with this?

First of all welcome to the forum.secondly you would know if they were leaking if you pull that black plastic cover off and look at where the intake meets the head and all other meet point and you see coolant

Thanks, should I be proactive or can I wait until leakage occurs and have time to replace the gasket before damage is done. The car was garage kept and serviced regularly, but has been sitting for a year now.

To be honest i think that the intake gasket issues were more in the series two engines.you could replace em but if its not broke dont fix it
