Any suggestions?

I have a 93 oldsmobile 88 with a Series 1 3800 naturally aspired engine. At the moment I have CAI, 180 modified T-stat, A/C bypassed and removed, and a valve cover breather. I want to mod more, but am finding it difficult, like others with a series 1. I have some ideas and wanted opinions of others to tell me if it is possible. I was wondering how hard it would be to change my condensor to a tranny cooler, if possible. I also have another problem with my air filter. My filter tends to get a little wet because of its location and it is starting to fall apart. I was wondering if a K&N would do fall apart too, or if it would be alright?? My friend said he saw an airfilter that does not allow water to get through and is water proof at this car store. He said it is for people who put there filters in places like mine is.(outside the engine compartment, in front of left tire). I was also wondering if a bonneville with a series 1, jet 2 chip would fit and work in my car? I hate my shiftpoints and govenor. Are there any throttle body's that would hook up to my car?(like are bonneville's bigger, or grand prix). I have read a lot of these posts and many are helpful, but suggestions on what to do with my car from anyone would help a lot. I want my car to be as fast as possible. Thanks

You're off to a great start. Here's what I'd do:

Ditch the intake outside the engine compartment and go with an ADTR once we determine it'll fit. No more moisture probs. Don't waste your time converting the condensor to a cooler. Might be too much crud or nasties in there. A tranny cooler is cheap.

Open up your exhaust before you go with a chip, so you can go stage 2, if it crosses over. All Series 1 TB's are the same size, regardless of what car they went in. Installing a Series 2 TB may be possible, but probably not worth the trouble.

With the intake, stat, cooler, chip and exhaust, you'll be smokin'. Tires will be your weak point. That's the cheap budget-wise way to go. You want to have fun, talk to Hector or Ty!

Sounds about right. Depends how far you want to modify your car. If you need questions answered about ADTR products or in general just post here or email me at the address in the signature below.

You got me thinking about that Series 2 Throttle Body. IF you did your exhaust and were willing to port your exhaust manifolds, and port and polish the heads and lower intake, or even build a custome lower, I'm thinking it would be a no-brainer to install the Series 2 upper intake and TB. The only thing that would MAYBE stand in your way would be the whether or not the Series 2 MAF and TPS are compatible with your PCM. I'm betting they are. Jr's 3800 owns both a series1 and 2, so he may be able to jump in on this one. He checks the H body posts as often as Hector and I.

Whaddya think, Jr? Better idea than the L36- L27 head swap?
And Jr, can you measure the diameter difference between your TB's?
