all the dash lights came on and the tach and temp gauge quit working . when i shut it off it will not start back up i checked the grounds under the hood . it will start up and die right away . need help

Check your fuel pressure. If the pressure is dropping the engine will die. If that'* the case, you can try replacing the fuel filter, but it'* more likely the fuel pump. If pressure is good, then check for spark.

That is also one of the many things that can be caused by a malfunctioning CPS.
