I am needing to kn0w how I can figure out if the alarm it still hooked up on my car or if it has been bypassed. When I bought the car I just got a key and nothing else but here recently I had to replace a few fuses in the fuse box and I say a 10Amp fuse for the alarm so I am guessing that means my car at one time had a factory alarm or it had been bypasses. I due know that last year when I had to replace the instrument cluster I had to have the the firmware or something like that transferred to the other one because when the put the other cluster it disabled the car and then they looked further into it and they found out that the security system was made into the cluster itself. Also after more digging I found that GM uses the Passlock system and I'm wondering if they could have bypassed it. Also I noticed a sticker on my drivers door mentioning something about an alarm on the car. I will upload the picture of the sticker along a few pics of the fuse box and the fuse diagram on the fuse box cover. Also the reason why I'm asking this question is because I am planing on putting an electric start that also has an alarm built into it. I didn't want to cause any issues with the factory setup alarm wise.

Also I forgot to mention this but my ignition key has no chip in it, just a plain key. Also the sticker mentioned something about an electric start so I am even more curious of what may be on the car if. I'm really hoping anyone here might be able to help me without this because I really don't want to take it to an electrical shop to help me figure this out. Thanks.

That electric start is not GM issue. If you can, get me a picture of your RPO sticker that is on top of your spare tire cover. White sticker, bunch of letters and numbers on it.

So since the electronic start isn't a GM thing them I'm betting that is has been removed from the car.

It'* possible, but they usually don't use the factory fuse blocks. You would have to find a module of some sort usually tucked underneath the drivers side dash.

So could that just be an empty slot with a fuse in it then? If so then I shouldn't have a problem then putting an electronic start on it then right.

I don't see any issue installing a remote start on it.
