found this, dont suppose you have a scope so you can see if the 30/50 signal is getting to d5/c3 on the pcm?

No, no scope, I think if I had some better tools I could figure this out, I havn't worked in a shop for about 9 years and since that time I have lost, sold, or loaned out (but never returned) some of my better diagnostic tools. I would just give up and tell them they have to take it to a "real mechanic" but I know that they have no money and every time I say I am going to give up someone from their church calls and begs me to look at it some more, I just don't know what else to look at. I'm still open for suggestions........

how about disconnecting the wire there at the pcm and hooking the bypass to it. then at least you know its getting the signal.

some meters have a freq function if you have a dmm. it would be bad if we assume the module works but its really not.
