99 aurora, issues with cooling system....
started running hot in the summertime and when idling...i'd keep an eye on the temp gauge and turn the heat to full blast when it got up over normal running temp and it stayed within normal limits. changed the thermostat, still same issues...suddenly noticed a jump in coolant consumption, and it at first, it didn't seem to be leaking out anywhere. then i noticed one day, immediately after shutting it off, it was leaking coolant, but couldn't tell exactly where, it looked like it was hitting a metal piece up under the car and running across that and dripping down. also having grounding issues after replacing the alternator (PAIN IN THE *** to do, btw)...speedometer/tachometer gauges are jumping around. anyways, my main concern is the coolant issues, any ideas on where to go from here? i need guidance. want to keep this baby running as long as i can, i rely on it!

dont really know much about that engine but generally you should remove any covers, most of the engines are easier to see from the bottom soo put it on stands or ramps clean the area with degreaser then run the engine so you can see were its coming from

?
my boyfriend just told me he ran a pressure test on it and said it didn't seem to have any leaks, he ran it at cold and normal running temps. i'm just confused. so does that mean it could be the water pump, or head gasket maybe??

if you saw it, its leaking outside the engine, head gaskets and intake manifold gaskets will cause the engine to run poorly and you woundnt see a leak. has to be outside the engine, its just tough to see, especially on that engine. all you can do is what i said and keep looking till you find it, you may have to remove things to be able to see
