What happens when you adjust the timing. Does it get any better?
|
No it will ether stall or just seem like it’s missing.

Also new plugs wires spark plugs cap rotor coil. New gas with new gas tank. No vac advance and have the 4 pin plug unplugged

If the timing is correct you may need a distributor.

the coil for a v6 oldsmobile will be different than a v6 chevy, buick. pontiac and oldsmobile(I think) rotate opposite buick and chevy(correct me if im wrong) did you use a diferent coil by chance
Module is distinct too then i would say your firing order is off based on the behavior |
Update got the problem fixed. The ICM was bad put a new 11.00 part in and fired right up. Now time to finish this project.

Module is distinct too then i would say your firing order is off based on the behavior I've read about reverse-rotating Buick V-6 engines of long ago, used in dual-engine boat applications. What I've read about was on Buick 225 V-6 engines, which are about the same as (post-Kaiser/Jeep/AMC) Buick 231, just with a slightly narrower bore. I've never seen one in person though. |
