2002 Aurora, to buy or not... lot'* of codes
I'm looking at an 02 Aurora that'* got some issues. I'm pretty handy, shade tree mechanic, but don't want to get in over my head with it. The car starts and drives, but rough, lacks power... pulling allot of codes. All electronics in the compartment work... even the heated seats to my surprise.
PO 306, 340, 410, 716, 717, 742, 340
-cyl 6 misfire
-camshaft sensor
-secondary air injection
-input speed sensor intermittent
-input speed sensor low input
-torque converter clutch... this one has me worried since I've read the transmission has to be dropped to get to it. or it could be a solenoid... also inside the trans?
- camshaft position sensor
Seems they have ignored all maintenance, even getting a low coolant message... dang, after writing this I've about talked myself out of buying it already.
So just wondering if any of these things is a deal breaker... what someone with more experience can tell me? I can pick it up for under $1000.
Thanks,
Jeff

i wouldnt get into that at any price, its alot of aggravation. you dont want any vehicle that shows obvious signs of neglect, who knows if they changed the oil or any other fluids. engine could be sludged up and if you dont change the dexcool at half intervals of the recommended that causes issues too

I agree with Justin. That many codes is an indication that the previous owner didn't take care of it. RUN!!

Now for $650, that might be worth the hassle of diagnostics.
Is this what they call the "Mechanic Special"?
