1998 regency no start sometimes

This car is a 1998 olds. regency
This problem is intermitant and when it happens I turn the key to start and nothing
happens exept the dash lights go out. I can here a light click of a relay under the drivers side dashboard I am assuming it is the passkey relay and assume that the VATS system is OK I am not sure there is a starter enable relay on this model. It will start great for a
week. Normally the automatic headlights come on when you turn the ignition switch to the on position, When the trouble occurs the headlights do not come on.
New battery is installed and showing 12.5vdc.
HELP IF YOU CAN

Check and clean your batter cables, both of them on both ends. Common problem, a little corrosion is all it is.

Thanks Dan
I will give it a try when I can get it on a lift and let you know what happens.
Of course the car is starting normally now.
