Default 2004 Alero - Intermittant Dash lights, power windows, radio, AC

My neighbor has a 2004 Olds Alero. She is having an intermittent problem that causes her instrument cluster lights, console lights, power windows, Radio and AC to stop working.

Again it is an intermittent problem. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't.

Anyone have any suggestions?

it sounds like the bcm, all those things are controlled by it. but i would check the fuses and ground for good connection first. the fuses that feed the bcm are "int lps, a/c bfc, ipc/bfc, bfc batt" unfortunately if it is the bcm it has to be programed to your car by the dealer so i would check everything i could before that

Well, cant be a fuse because it is intermittent. Fuse blows and it is done until you replace it. Could be a circuit breaker. Loose connection or ground but where. I don't have a wire diagram but what I see on the internet they don't have a common connection.

The BCM you mentioned. She had what she calls a "box" under the glove compartment replaced for about $450. Is this what you are referring to?

Any common problems with the ignition switch?

Thanks for your help

could, im not sure exactly where it is. but fuses do cause intermittent issues. can be very frustrating to track down, unfortunately have a bunch of experience with this. all it has to be is a little loose. i used to have a 03 monte carlo that would not start at random times and after many months of trying to figure it out, finally just went through and tightened the fuses with a little flat screwdriver and the one ign fuse was just a little loose, never had a problem again
