Default Oldsman105-Humming noise from wheel well- Pulling hair out!

Oldsman 105; (the guy with the 1996 L67 Black Riviera)
Backgroud story
Humming coming from left wheel well and I assumed it was the left wheel hub because the ABS light was also on (happened with my 1995 Riv and after I changed the wheel hub problem solved!). After installation of the new wheel hub I drove it and shortly after the noise returned and now it is louder than before. Believe it to be a faulty wheel hub and I traded it in for another wheel HUB, and now it is making the same noise again, but now it is worse. The funny thing is that after I installed both wheel hubs the ABS light went off, but after 5 minutes of driving the light came right back on. I am starting to believe that it is not the wheel hub at all, please I need advice!

It sure sounds like the hub assembly. Are you torqueing it down properly? Most of the new ones I've seen need 140-180ft-lbs to load the bearing properly and impact wrenches are a no-no. See the instructions that come with the bearing for the torque spec to use.

It could be something in the differential (its not clear ihow long the noise goes away for with each new bearing) or CV Joint. They can make noises too. Try driving in circles in reverse Left and right. Any odd clucking noises from the wheel area could indicate a bad cv joint.

Lastly, are you sure its not the brakes/Pads? I've had a pad crack and loosen up so one part wouldn't 'float' properly and make some humming noises, but those went aways when I stepped on the brakes.

I hope I helped.

I changed the Hub twice. bought one put it on heard noise returned it bought another still hearing noise. I am starting to think it is the left axle. I didwhat popatim suggested "reverse and turn" and heard nothing. My car at 80 mph sounds like a B-17 bomber
