1980 bnrougham no start
Hi, I have a 1980 Brougham 88, no starting issue. It has sat for at least 5 years. I have replaced the plugs, cap rotr and coil. I have ignition and fuel. I have tried pouring fuel and starting fluid, still no start. I am running out of ideas. There was an alarm system installed but removed it. Right now I am at a loss. Any ideas?

Clear exhaust? Fuel and spark. How about compression?
Are you trying starting fluid with fresh plugs? |

Flow? In the bowl? Coming out the jets?

While I'm here: What engine does this car have? |

Does this mean you have spark?
Pressure? Flow? In the bowl? Coming out the jets? Confirming: It's turning over, right? . . . just not firing? . . . and reconnected all wiring that the alarm touched in their original configuration? While I'm here: What engine does this car have? |

Okay so you have spark now, at the plugs? . . . and you have fuel in the bowl and coming out of the jets? |
Find an old mechanic to give you a hand. I sounds like you are in over your head. This is very basic stuff. If you don't have spark at the plugs take off the distributor cap and check for corrosion.

I'm confused, first he says he had no spark, then says he now has spark. But no start. How can you have a no start condition when fuel has been dumped and you have spark?
What test did you do to determine you have spark? |
Yeah, that's why I asked about "at the plugs".
Hopefully wedge1368 comes back to finish the job. |
