Oil and oil filter change

To keep your engine in good running order you should change your oil ever 3000 miles or ever 3 months which ever comes first. (With standard oil)(Synthetic oil can be further between changes)

Make sure you have 4.5 quarts of oil and the correct filter.

Put your car up on ramps. You can use a jack, just make sure you have jack stands. Ramps are much safer and easier to use.

You will need a catch pan for the drain oil, a oil filter wrench, and a 15mm wrench for the drain plug.

Slide you catch pan under the drain plug and oil filter. The filter is on the passenger side.

Now take your 15mm wrench and remove the drain plug. It's located on the back of the oil pan.

Once the plug is out the oil will drain out.

When the oil has slowed to a trickle you can remove the filter.

While that is draining dip your finger tip in to the drain oil and apply oil to the rubber seal on the new filter. This will prevent damage to the seal when you put it on. Cover the whole seal with oil.

Now put the new filter on. Put this on by hand, no tools are needed to tighten it. Simply make it as tight as you can by hand.

By now nearly all the oil that can drain out has come out. Inspect the tip of the plug for debris. Then put it back in the drain hole. make sure you tighten the plug.
