Disconnect fuel line

This write up is how to Disconnect the fuel line. Use this if your going to remove the fuel rails, inspect or replace injectors, or need to remove the top end for maintenance.

I suggest getting a fuel line disconnect tool. It don't need to be a deluxe set like this, but the tool will make it much easier and safer.

This is where you will disconnect the fuel lines.

You will need to relieve the fuel pressure or fuel will spray out. Start by locating the Sharder valve and removing the cap.

Now place a rag under the valve as well as over it to catch the fuel that will spray out. Push in the valve until fuel stops coming out. There will only be a small amount.

Now, remove the retaining clips on the fuel lines. There will be two of these, one on the left side.

And another on the right.

Now take the tool and push it in to the clip until it stops.

The fuel line should then come off easy. Pull line straight back.

Now do the same thing for the other fuel line.

That is all that is needed to remove the fuel lines.

Now, to put the fuel lines back on.

Simply grasp the fuel line and line up with the fuel rail, then gently push until you hear a click. Tug on the fuel line to ensure it's locked.

Do the same thing for the other fuel line.

Now turn your key to the run and leave it there for about 5 seconds. Then start your car.
