Default At the movies (up dated review)

Well here goes im going to start something here.. Well attempt anyways.

I'm at home nothing really to do today watching GhostRider by Marvel and 20th Century Fox.

Based on the Marvel character, stunt motorcyclist Johnny
Blaze gives up his soul to become a hellblazing vigilante,
to fight against power hungry Blackheart, the son of the
devil himself.

Credited Cast:

Matt Long ........ Young Johnny Blaze
Raquel Alessi .... Young Roxanne Simpson
Peter Fonda ...... Mephistopheles
Nicolas Cage ..... Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider

I will edit and add a opinion on this film when done

Well I'm the kind of person who believes in first impressions make it, This movie didn't get me going till Johnny Blaze (Cage) made the big jump. The forst 15 to 20 minutes of this movie bored me. Although the story line was meant ot follow the comic book I think the writers could have done something to liven it up a little, Now there was an AllStar cast I think they hit it off there but likely blew there Effects budget in the process some of the effects looked cheesy to say the least....

In my opinion unless the kids are begging you to take them to the movies wait for it to come out on DVD. I don't think it was a movie worth the hefty price tag and juiced up concession stand prices. Or if you do go in to it with low expectations. With ok acting and simple effects im rating this 3 out of 5

depending how this flies i might make it a weekly thing heck tha amount of movies i watch maybe twice a week.

feel free to leave comments and critique my post

Umm, you might want to try that link again

As for the rest, I will take your word for it, I guess this one can wait until it comes out on DVD.

ghost rider gets a 4 out of 5. this coming from someone who owns the vast majority of the second ghost rider series, and grew up reading the original ghost rider comic books. they changed the story quite a bit [esp caretaker and john blaze'* dad + roxanne], but its still true to the ghost rider of the comic books. theres no zarathos, but thats okay. only in one portion do the effects get a little questionable, but thats okay because of what they were trying to accomplish. its not easy to turn a man into a flaming skeleton - and still have that skeleton retain all of the qualities of the man.

one of the best comic book adaptations. right up there with x-men.

see it in theatres. then buy it on dvd.

I'm going along with ReallyAGXP in giving it maybe 3 out of 5 stars. I took my grandson to see it yesterday. He was very bored with it. I was a bit more entertained having read some of the comics (although they were never my favorite). I found the acting ok and the special effect adequate. Its not a DVD I will be buying.

*** SPOILER ALERT ***
The 'fight' scenes with the banished angels/demons were laughable. The ending battle with the devils own son was so corny it reminded me of Stephen Kings movies.
