Default winfixer

I keep getting this stubborn "Winfixer" popup when I go to Hotmail. Anyone know anything about it?

I would probably need a Dell to get their support...

I'd already done google and found a bunch of stuff that would all tell me I have a problem, but I'd have to pay for the program to fix it. So I found it myself and got rid of it.

Lavasoft'* adaware se is free for personal use, and is a good program. Another is Spybot Search and Destroy. I run them both, along with my ZoneAlarm Pro firewall, which also has spyware detection now. The regular Zonealarm is free, but the Pro version you have to pay for.

Yeah, I've run into that too. That'* why I run a few adware and spyware checking programs. Often what one doesn't catch, the other one does. I've also had it where they have said they fixed the problem, but didnt, and had to do what you did...remove it manually.

Speaking of Dell, here'* a link to their forum where it was discussed.
