Ever had a root canal?
Just got back from the specialist. I'm not a pansy, really! My wife just came for moral support! I'm happy to say this guy wasn't a butcher like the last guy I went to a few years ago. I still need to replace the temporary filling and have the tooth crowned though. In conclusion.... .. this will ending up costing me more than I paid for my '95. I'm in the wrong profession!

My wife just got hers done last week, still waiting for the crown (3 more weeks). The place we went to was so high tech and they only do root canals. X-rays took only seconds and showed on an LCD right next to her. We have dental insurance and only paid 80.00 for the root canal and 500.00 for the crown work.

OUCH!. Doesn’t sound like anyone had much fun with it. I don't know how much the permanent filling and crown will cost but so far, it'* up to around $1,400.00. If you’re saying that the crown was $500.00 with insurance then I'm in a heap of trouble.
Dang, and this all started when a filling came out.

I had to have two done at once, thanks to a infected, malformed root when I was about 11 or 12.
The worst part was when I was 90% through the root canal and my orthodontist told me "yeah, have these same two pulled, we need to make room for your braces"
So yeah. Root canal immediately followed by extraction. yay :(
