You Bonneville guys are a funny bunch...

Hey all! I've decided to join your merry forum. You guys are freakin hilarious. I love your kills section. I find myself ROTFLMAO. I found your forum while checkin out Bonny's on Cardomain. I like to keep myself informed of most 4 doors. Yall sound like we do on the Impalassforum.com! I guess we're all 4 door, heavy riding freaks. I love a BIG 4 door that's fast. I still haven't gotten a race with a bonny. You definitely have the most comfortable seats and I want some. I guess people really love these cars cause I can't find many at junk yards and the ones that I find only have cloth seats. Well I just wanted to introduce myself.

HELLO BROTHERS & SISTERS...

Hailey 06-08-2003 03:50 PM

Hey! We're not all men...just 99.999999...% of us!
Anyway, great to have you. My hubby and I seriously considered an Impala instead of our Bonneville...great cars. Stick around and maybe your next toy will be a Bonnie. :D

Oh, and as for the seats...good luck. Most SSEis and SSE/SLEs with options don't end up in junkyards because we can't bear to part with them. You may get lucky though...and you can post a request in the "Wanted" forum to see if anyone here has some...some of the people here are parting out their Bonnies.

welcome
and if it's not a bonnie...it's for sure an SS!

Thanks guys for the warm welcome. I may just take Hailey's advice and get one for my wife. She has a 92 Buick Lesabre that has gotten us through a lot of years and I want her replacement car to be just as good if not better. I would love for her to have a bonneville! Now, if I could just convince her. One major thing about the BIG cars is the safety. There's a lot of room to work with especially, after seeing some of these cheap cars in accidents. We have two boys 4 & 6 to think about also.
So, till I talk to yall again, make mine a Bonny & SS!

Nice to have you here HeavySS. Question: does your 95 have the shifter on the floor or was that only the following year?

Burgundy_Boat 06-08-2003 11:18 PM

that was only the 96's...

BonneAlien 06-08-2003 11:22 PM

Welcome...gotta love the fast 4 doors.

SS, an H body is an H body. You're more than welcome here!

As far as the Imapala is concerned, I love 'em, and I'm damn glad to see them and the MC get the L67 now. Just saw the first commercial for it yesterday. I just wish they'd put the Impala front end on a Monte. No comparison.

Welcome!

The SS isn't an H body. 95/96 was the same as the larger RWD Caprice, whatever body it is, and the new ones are W body, I think.

But you are still more than welcome here.

complinitor 06-09-2003 08:25 AM

I believe that your car was classified as B body. There were 3 mods to that chassis...the B, which was Caprice/Impala, the Parissiane (SP?), and the pre-86 Delta 88and Lesbre.
The D body was the Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham and the 98 Regency.

Great cars all!!!!!! Long live the BIG CARS!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to the Forum HeavySS! I've always been a big car owner too! The bonny is my first V6 ever. I bought it 5 1/2 years ago, the choice was between a 95 ImpalaSS and the bonny. The interior of the bonny won me over, especially the seats!!
BTW- when i bought the car the kiddies were 2 & 4. Their 7 & 9 now and love riding in the big black (fast) boat. (I dont now if i would attempt to race you tho)

Welcome to the club Heavy SS, the main thing is having fun and we do that very well....

willwren 06-09-2003 11:26 AM

Oops. I didn't see the pic. I assumed it was an H Impala!

I had that same body, too. A Buick Roadmaster with an LT1. Alas! That car got totalled. 10k of damage to the rear end alone. Now I drive a Bonneville, so I guess it wasn't ALL bad!

Drifter420 06-10-2003 12:03 PM

Welcome.. Impalas are definitely nice.. funny how it seems a lot of people are torn between Impalas and Bonnies. I don't mind the new Impalas.. but drool over the pre 96 LT1 RWD ones.. the only reason I didn't get it was cause I have a few friends and I at times will participate in street racing ( no.. only on industrial areas as so the public don't get hurt ).. and have and Impala would make a lot of people uneasy ( thinkin it's an undercover ) or worse.. havin people go talk to the undercover thinkin it was me. My choices were pre 96 Impala, Cadillac STS, and the Bonneville. I chose the Bonneville cause of Muffin ( AKA Tamara, Queen Bonneville ).

If you're wife and yourself wants a newer bonnie.. I would recommend 95+ N/A model with Series II.. or 96+ S/C'd model. If you can afford it.. 98+ S/C supposedly have re-enginieered heads that doesn't crack when you mod it. But since I don't think she'll want to mod it.. those would be good..
