Save Internet Radio
If anyone listens to internet radio, you might have noticed that your station fell silent today. Today was a Day of Silence in protest to recent changes in Internet radio royalties, which increased by 300% and is retroactive for 17months. Please, go to http://www.savenetradio.org/ and contact your local congressman/woman to support internet radio!
Even the largest internet radio companies will either go bankrupt or be forced to pander to the recording industries desires. This means a lack of diversity in internet radio, and more of a broad appeal in the selection. For me, the appeal of internet radio is the fact that I can find new artists to listen to. Such is my interest in www.pandora.com The last thing I want to hear on internet radio is the same stuff on Billboard top 10 or whatever the new album is by Avril Lavigne. So please, help save internet radio!
