Big Movies of the Summer
Just some big movies to look out for this summer:
(click on the name to see the trailer)
Iron Man - May 2
Already saw this movie, was pretty sweet. Worth seeing on the big screen.
Speed Racer - May 9
Hopefully this one lives up to the hype, it looks kinda geard towards the young audience, but at least it should be fun to go see.
The Fall - May 9
Kind of a fantasy story-telling "Big Fish" kinda movie. Looks pretty interesting.
The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian - May 16
This one is on my "to see" list. I am a big fan of the books, and the first movie was good, so this one should be good.
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull - May 22
What is there to say besides this movie is gonna be sweet!
The Strangers - May 30
This movie looks like its going to be one i like to call a "seat jumper" :P . I'm usually not one for horror, but i might have to venture out to see this one.
Kung-Fu Panda - June 6
Hopefully jack black doesn't ruin this movie Might have a few goo laughs in it.
Mongol - June 6
If your a history buff you'll like this movie. Its all the about the rise of Genghis Khan. Actually doesn't look too bad.
The Incredible Hulk - June 13
No, not a sequel to Hulk, this one actually looks good :P This one seems more of his struggle with being the hulk, and controlling it, than just smashing things...
The Happening
Another one of M. Night Shamalama-ding-dong'* stupid movies. IMO a pretty stupid plot. Some mysterious natural virus that "kills" people but can't get through the wall. I'm sorry but i've lost all faith in M. Night.
Wall-e - June 27
Disney/Pixars biggest animated film yet? It looks good. Deff on the "to see" list.
Hancock - July 2
Will it be good? We'll have to wait and see.
Hellboy II: The Golden Army
What can i say, if you liked the first Hellboy then you're gonna like this one. And if you didn't like the first one see this one anyway, cuz it looks sweet.
The Dark Knight - July 18
If you haven't heard of this movie, you must be living under a rock...
Besides the whole Heath Ledger deal, this movie is gonna be awesome.
The X-Files: I Want To Believe - July 25
X-Files Fans rejoice the movie is here :P
Step Brothers - July 25
Whats there to say - Another "stupid/funny" movie with Will Ferral and John Reilly. Hopefully its actually funny...
The Mummy: Tomb of The Dragon Emperor - August 1
Yup Another Mummy movie... couldn't find a trailer for this one.
Midnight Meat Train - August 1
Its a Lionsgate Horror Film - Its gonna be good...
Pineapple Express - August 8
Stoner film / Murder Drama - The best of both worlds. Hopefully worth seeing.
Tropic Thunder - August 15
This movie has potential. I'll wait for my judgment until i see it though. (and Robert Downey Jr. is black )
Babylon A.D. - August 29
A Vin Diesel Movie that might be worth watching (besides F&F)
Saw V - October 24
Yup - another halloween, another saw.
Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince - November 21
The next book in the series. Of course its gonna be good
And some to look forward to in 2009
Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs
The Spirit

Well, it'* looking like 2010 for this one....
[edit] Live action film (proposed)
On September 7, 2007, the Hollywood Reporter stated that Warner Brothers had acquired the film rights to Robotech, and would be producing a live-action film with an as-yet-unknown release date (However, it has been listed with a 2010 release date in the Internet Movie Database). Tobey Maguire is producing the film through his Maguire Entertainment banner and is eyeing the lead role in what the studio plans on being a tentpole sci-fi franchise. "We are very excited to bring 'Robotech' to the big screen," Maguire said. "There is a rich mythology that will be a great foundation for a sophisticated, smart and entertaining film...".[5]
Drew Crevello also is producing through his Supercool Hollywood BigTime Productions Company.
Craig Zahler ("The Brigands of Rattleborge") has been tapped to write the screenplay.
In an interview,[6] Harmony Gold representative Kevin McKeever said that Warner Brothers had approached Harmony Gold about the project, that Harmony Gold would have "a say" in its creative direction, and that it was not expected to affect the production schedule for Shadow Rising. He was unable to confirm any details of budget, casting, expected release date, or storyline, explaining that it was too early in the life of the project for these things to have been decided.
