Great white north makes me laugh, MN is geographically furthur north the southern Ontario As well as Maine, some upstate NY too....

We usually get the first snow in the Toronto area by mid December...gets awful cold though

1600 ft is on top of a mountain?!? Heheh!! That'* crazy...the airport here is at 1235 ft. Western Kansas is around 3600 ft. Is that 1600 ft. above sea level??

You mean that little nub that sticks up? We're actually farther north then maine too, but cause of the contour of maps it doesn't look like it. So what'* the deal with international falls anyways? Were you cannucks too good for it? Snow must stay away till November 2nd 'round here...

Actually on top of a hill, 1636 ft MSL but the airport is surrounded by mountainous terrain and a tower about 5 so. of the airport that rises to 2564 ft MSL.

I used to live in Colorado with elev. no less than 3,000 ft. near Utah. When I was flying here, we went up to 10,000 and I could see quite a ways. There are no hills or anything around here. It'* just a gradual climb to 3600 ft. from here toward Colo. Just a point of interest...didn't mean to hijack yet another thread...

I have flown out in Colo. Nice part of the country. We get lousy weather in the winter and it is Canadas fault. Continental air masses intruding from Canada predominate in winter and generate a west to east storm track.
