Default I HATE THIS ****ING HOUSE!!!!!! ARGH!!!

I swear the house I'm renting was built on a friday afternoon.

The AC died in may..then it died in July....both repairs were major but were covered by the landlord. both were different problems.

Now the AC, hot water died again. turns out the main line into the basement broke and put 5 feet of water down there. the furnace, water heater, wiring, pipes, etc are under water. Of course this happened while I was out of town and so was my roomate.

The house a smaller 2 bedroom and was recently appraised at around 150k which is WAY too much for a something of this quality.

the house was built 6 years ago. I'm moving out the day the 1 year lease expires, thats next month I beleive.

I guess make sure you have insurance if you own a home, no matter how old it is...that is the lesson here.

Cant wait to see the water bill

water is cheap around here...
1000 gallons is $3

that sucks about everything being underwater... how much stuff did you have down there?

unknown to basically everyone, but my BRAND NEW house flooded the day we moved in, there was about an inch in the entire basement. turns out the contractor forgot to plug in the sump pump. :?

If you buy a home through a bank, I think you are obligated to have insurance on it while making payments. Collateral or some crap like that I guess. Maybe it'* different there. And I would guess that your landlord has an obligation to keep that house liveable. If you get the run around, simply call the city(or is it the state?). I think you can also refuse to pay rent if the conditions are sub standard. This is a lot of thinking on my part, so consider yourself warned, do some research on the matter. You should have rights in this, considering you are paying for a service and a dry place to sleep.

No worries, there is a plumber, hvac and a disaster recovery company there right now.

Best part about this whole thing is the landlord said he might have to raise the rent once my lease expires next month due to the rising propertly taxes.

Raise the rent!? Good thing you're moving out! That is a major PITA to have all those things happening to your house.

its actually a killer deal right now. rent is similar to most 2 bedroom appartments go for and I get a house + 2 car garage......but my roomate lost his job last week...so he will be moving in with either his brother or parents soon anyway. Therefore I'll probably be moving back to ghetto living without roomates...cant wait
