Pictures explain it all!
Found this site where they explain the difference of sohc,dohc, and pushrod engine. For me, the animated illustrations explain a lot that words get lost on. :?

That was really cool to watch. I had to have my son explain to me what a camshaft was 
Hey- I just drive 'em I don't fix 'em.
but it was cool and I learned something new today and that is all that matters
