I will start off saying I think this should be addressed every year but here it goes. We all have a decent amount of money, blood, sweat and tears invested in these cars whether they are mostly daily drivers or little more radical drivers or even toy status drivers. we need to take a second now that winter is upon us and learn the limits of our cars and how to adjust and compensate for all the things that life and other drivers can and will throw your way. Doing this will either save your life or save your investment that we have in these cars. I am not immune from this even the 2003 with all the suspension mods done to it I almost curbed it because I over shot the up coming corner and under estimated the amount of traction that was available. I was able to save it and not slide into the curb but it was because I have learned the limits of what the car can handle. Just a general rule give yourself 3 times the distance you would expect for snow and ice as you would on dry or even wet pavement. Amanda over shot a intersection because she did what she was used to doing on dry pavement when the light turned quickly.

All the user checks aside make sure your gear is up to snuff and ready to handle the abuse that a winter will throw at your car. I realize this may be a little late for some of you and not relevant for others but I would like to say i hope we can make it through this winter with out any human or vehicle causalities like has happened in the past. Take care of your rides so they will take care of you when you need them too. Lastly everyone have a safe and sober holiday season and winter we don't need to compound the test that mother nature throws our way already.

We have some nasty winters here, lived here my whole life. Learned to drive in snow when I was young. I live by 2 rules when driving in winter. Rule one, it'* better to get there late, then not at all. In other words, drive slow and steady. Rule 2, everyone on the road is a idiot, so think the worst when you see another car.

Hey man your not kidding every body is an idiot period lol But my silverado has bald rear tires.....that why im getting my 33'* tomorrow with AM rims for 300 bucks and all are brand new lol...Did okay last winter in a fwd minivan and the 3 before in my 87 camaro hopefully everybody is safe and gets where they need to go with no issues

This will be my 4th winter that I'll have driven. I'm getting winter tires put on for the first time as I've heard they make an immense difference.

Thanks for the reminder Greg... I have been enjoying the upgraded Regal and can completely understand what you are saying. I'm about to put on 16" rims and normal tires again. Surely there is going to be a difference.

#2 is always followed, you forgot #3 Smoke and squealing will actuate other vehicles brakes.

Hey i got me a new set of 33x10.5x15'* on my truck so between those and 4wd ill b okay ha

well the regal will be sitting for who knows how long now to my gf so it is the truck'* duty now for dd. I think a little lift and tires and shocks will be replaced and drive it till my gf can afford to pay for the keys she lost. So now I got to get the 99 running soon so i can save gas.

Greg...last set of lost Regal keys that I "located" were down on the driver side under the seat half way under the track. Found them by pulling the seats to put in heated pads. It'* a seriously impossible to see location.

PS.. for all ya cool guys with big ole tires on your trucks. Keep in mind that big tires, no matter their tread ... will ride on top of the snow and not cut their way through to pavement. They may dig in mud and even help you get moving...typically they increase stopping distance though.
