Default Looking for some help...

I have a 2001 Chev. Impala. 2 weeks ago it started stalling on me. Mechanic said it showed a bad catalytic converter. (po 420). I was hesitant because my converter was replaced at the dealership in 06 due to a recall/special policy, but I did replaced it. Now it failed on me again 2 weeks later same exact symptoms. Now I am told I have a bad MAP sensor and fuel pump. I am still learning, but I kinda understand how they all work together. Could it just be a bad sensor, throwing pressure codes and did I waste $ on a catalytic conv that was fine. And could it be causing the fuel pump to function improperly?

when they do a recall most times, they put the same crappy part on again so to hear the first one lasted 5yrs and the next one lasted 5yrs again makes sense. as far as your current issues its better if you tell us exact codes and symptoms so we can help you better. if all you are getting is a cat eff code than that has nothing to do with fuel pump or maf. if you are getting lack of power, codes, etc, thats a different story. but we need more info. you should check the fuel pressure and read the codes and then post that.
