the older folks always talk about that. a whole bunch of people died because of no phones and stuff, what a wonderful thing those are. its always bad far snow here but not so dangerous any more. we had another 8ft in 24 hrs maybe 10yrs ago, it was much less dangerous because of that and the snow plans and equipment there is these days. they contracted local tractor dealers to haul out the snow into lake erie and it was mostly gone in a few days. i was working in buffalo then, we only had two days off

Art, if you only knew.... on army per diem, hotels make deals to get the volume, same price here as is a motel 6. It is a very nice place, but need to BYOB, food and beverage prices are #$%^&*.

Wife told me to enjoy Southern California and sent me a pic of the back yard. She seems a bit peeved at me.

She is just Jealous that you are not freezing you *** off, and left her @ home!
That is a lot of snow in the back yard! Like the bird feeders, must be popular to all the feathered friends! ( I love birds too)
That motel 6 you describe would be easily $300 per night here!
I can image how expensive everything is in California, and I compliment you by your dedication to serve.
I know I cant afford huge trips, luxury homes, but honest hard working folks do succeed eventually, and then only look forward to retirement! (ASAP) in my case too!
It just cant happen soon enough!
Now where is that "Working For A Livin" Song...??

* It cold & freezing rain here right now..
I must now jump into the 4x4 with my security pass lock, on my day off..into work for 2 hours!
