Here is a link to the Ubuntu download. http://www.ubuntu.com/desktop/get-ubuntu/download

You would want the 32-bit desktop version. You would also need iso burning software such as iso recorder http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm

You could boot into the live version that wouldn't make any changes to your system and I'm sure your wireless would be working.

I was offering to remote in and take a look at the Windows side for you. I send you an email link, you run it, say "yes" a couple times. Then watch as I check a few things.

I had to chuckle. Looked at the status of the wireless, it was connected at 423.2 gbps. Dan'* too fast for his hair to keep up, and his wireless is too fast for the networks to keep up LOL.

Looks like a common Vista issue with no solutions ever recorded. I'm baffled. I removed all third party software, something is taking control of the wireless adapter. Vista diagnostics says there is a problem with the TCP/IP stack. I just have no idea.

Switch to 7 while you're at it. Vista blows.

I have 4 computers in the house, all have Vista. Kind of nice having the same operating system. Makes my job easier.

You can't. Vista and 7 talk nice, but down to XP not so much.

I'm pretty sure any software that runs on Vista will work the exact same on 7. I have a ton of stuff that'* Vista "only" or hasn't been tried on 7 "officially" but it still works great.
